Former Illinois Gov. George Ryan took office January 11, 1999. Ryan is serving a six-year prison sentence after being convicted in April 2006 on racketeering and fraud charges.
Former Illinois Gov. Dan Walker took office January 8, 1973. Walker pleaded guilty in 1987 to fraud and perjury charges and served 17 1/2 months in federal prison.
Former Illinois Gov. Otto Kerner took office January 9, 1961. Kerner was convicted in 1973 of bribery, conspiracy, income tax evasion, perjury and mail fraud and served 20 months.
